-If we consider that the portfolio consists of investment projects of large companies that the agency actively monitors, then we have 80. These investments are at different stages – from searching for locations for investors to being under construction and having some permit stalled – says the director of the Agency for Investments and Competitiveness, Damir Novinić.
In an interview for the new Globus he cites the company Danieli as an example, which is working on a new investment worth 20 million euros that is expected to create around 70 jobs.
As he explains, production has already started in two or three projects out of 80, as in the case of Danieli or Saint-Jean industry.
Besides tourism, he notes that the pharmaceutical sector is undergoing a serious investment initiative worth over one and a half billion kuna.
-Pliva is investing one billion kuna, Galenski laboratory plans investments of 200 million kuna, and there is also Belupo – says Novinić.
He claims that there has been an increase in interest for investment.
-The interest is there – from the Swiss, Austrians, Germans, Italians, and even the English who are not traditionally linked to this area – he explains.
