The Independent Union of Social Justice (NZSP) opposes the unification of three companies in the Đuro Đaković group without the preparation of a feasibility study, and believes that the merger contradicts the findings of economic science.
In today’s statement, the union refers to the planned merger of Đaković’s companies Elektromont, Proizvodna oprema, and Strojna obrada as ‘adventurism’, without the preparation of a feasibility study to be conducted by an independent consulting firm.
It warns that centralization is contrary to economic science, which, in the union’s opinion, teaches that the problem of inefficiency in a trading company is solved through decentralization, which brings better business organization, higher quality interpersonal relationships, and other benefits.
The union reminds that Đuro Đaković was centralized until the early 1980s, and then decentralized due to the same problems and weaknesses that plague it today, including sluggishness, inefficiency, and bureaucracy.
Therefore, the union demands that organizational and managerial changes be halted, that professional rules be followed, that a feasibility study be prepared, and that the ownership structure be thoroughly established.
