Carpe Diem in Hvar and Hacienda in Vodice have been caught in tax violations and are awaiting sealing, reports RTL.
-It seems to me that today the closure of Carpe Diem is due to the fact that there was not 120 kuna but 120 thousand kuna excess in the cash register- stated Slavko Linić.
Allegedly, this excess was achieved in just one day, making the popular Hvar club the largest and most prominent name to fall in the fight against tax evasion. However, Linić does not intend to stop there.
-You know, during this vacation, I was surprised at how many people want us to remove all those who operate illegally from the Croatian scene. This means that they have been excessive in how much they have been stealing from the state budget, education, and healthcare services without contributing to the state budget. It is finally time to put an end to such practices- said Linić.
Although it is unofficially learned that tax inspectors have already headed to Hvar to seal the popular club, those from Carpe Diem claim otherwise.
The Hvar club was not alone – tax inspectors also visited the Hacienda club in Vodice, where they discovered that no tickets were being issued for guest entry at the auxiliary entrance to the club. The Tax Administration does not wish to comment on individual cases, but confirms that oversight has been significantly tightened.
