After four days, a slight rise in Crobex is possible

At the end of the week, no significant changes are expected on the Zagreb Stock Exchange compared to previous days, so trading volume today may remain low due to summer vacations, and Crobex is likely to stagnate.

All 6 analysts from brokerage firms who participated in Hina’s survey expect stagnation of Crobex today.

The Crobex index fell by 0.24 percent yesterday, to 1,830 points, while Crobex10 decreased by 0.15 percent, to 1,029 points. Both indices have been sliding for four consecutive days, weakening by about 1.6 percent during that period.

Regular trading volume was 7 million kuna, which is approximately 3 million more than the day before.

The highest trading volume was achieved by the shares of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, at 1.9 million kuna, with a price decrease of 0.66 percent, to 1,500 kuna.

Following is the HT share, with a trading volume of 1.88 million kuna, and a price drop of 0.36 percent, to 173 kuna.

Additionally, in a block transaction of AD Plastik shares, a trading volume of 6.8 million kuna was achieved, at a price of 120 kuna.

“I do not expect major changes in the domestic market today. Trading volumes may remain low due to the summer vacation season, while indices may stagnate, likely in a positive area, due to rising stock prices on European exchanges,” says Ana Franin, financial analyst at Raiffeisenbank Austria.

While cautious trading occurred yesterday on Wall Street, as well as this morning on Asian exchanges, stock prices on European exchanges strengthened at the beginning of trading.

“Investors were encouraged by the latest macroeconomic indicators from China,” Franin notes.

The latest indicators cast a positive light on the Chinese economy – industrial production rose by 9.7 percent year-on-year in July, an acceleration after June’s growth of 8.9 percent.

In that month, retail sales also increased by 13.2 percent, and inflation data, measured by producer prices, shows it has fallen for the 17th consecutive month.

From domestic business news, the government today announced a call for expressions of interest and the collection of non-binding offers for the acquisition of 99.13 percent of shares in Hrvatska poštanska banka (HPB). Potential strategic investors in HPB will be offered 871,142 shares of HPB, with an individual nominal value of 1,100 kuna, totaling a nominal value of 958.2 million kuna.
