-With great resistance, we are building an entirely new system. Many claim that we are the executive authority and it is dangerous when we have the power to make executive decisions. However, we have completely rounded up the OIB, which means we have a very clear picture of which owners and managers destroyed their companies while simultaneously becoming wealthy privately – said Finance Minister Slavko Linić in an interview with Saturday’s Jutarnji list.
He emphasizes that individuals and their families who had businesses have become wealthy, leaving unpaid obligations behind them. Therefore, if companies cannot repay their debts, their founders and directors will do so.
As Linić states, although according to the Law in commercial companies they are liable up to the amount of capital, in the case of piercing the corporate veil under Article 63, their assets will be examined to see whether they were acquired through work, salary, and paid taxes or through malversations.
-You have entrepreneurs who used funds from the state budget, for example, through the Fund for Development and Employment. This means that many took hundreds of millions of kuna, destroyed businesses, and at the same time retained ownership of villas, apartments, luxury items… There will be no mercy for them – the minister told Jutarnji list.
