Mostar’s Aluminij has become a customer of the Slovenian company GEN-I. The contract for the purchase of 100 MWh/h of electricity for the period from August 1 to December 31, 2013, provides for the purchase of electricity at a more favorable price until the end of 2013.
– During the month of July, we collected several offers from various producers and traders of electricity from Southeast Europe. All items from these offers were carefully considered, and we determined that the most favorable one came from GEN-I. Namely, when we add the transmission costs to the contracted price for the remaining period of 2013, we will still be purchasing electricity from our Slovenian partner at a lower price compared to what we have been buying so far – commented Aluminij’s director Ivo Bradvica.
Aluminij’s total annual needs are 225 MWh/h of electricity, and the contingent of 100 MWh/h has so far been purchased from Hrvatska elektroprivreda, but that contract had to undergo changes after the Republic of Croatia joined the European Union, making it unfavorable for Aluminij. For the remaining 125 MWh/h, the Mostar factory has a contract with Elektroprivreda HZ Herceg-Bosne.
