The Most Favorable Offer Selected for the Development of the Marketing Plan

In selecting the most favorable offer for the development of a new strategic marketing plan for Croatian tourism, the commission chose the offer that is economically most advantageous and will provide exactly what we were looking for, said today the Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin.

The Minister made this statement in Donja Stubica in response to a journalist’s question about whether the most expensive offer was selected for the development of this plan. He stated that the primary goal in selecting the offer for the future strategic marketing plan is to obtain an offer that will enable quality tourist consumption.

During the preparation of the tender, a clear scoring method was presented and what is primarily sought in the offer so that the rules of the game were the same for everyone, Lorencin said in Donja Stubica, where he attended the presentation of new tourist gastro products.

He added that everyone was in an equal position and everyone knew what was required and for which aspects more points could be earned. When the line was drawn, it was evident which offer was economically most favorable and which offers what we are looking for, concluded the Minister.

The Tourism Council of the Croatian Tourist Board accepted at the end of June the offer from the companies THR from Barcelona and Zagreb’s Horwath Consulting for the development of the strategic marketing plan for Croatian tourism for the period 2014-2020 in the amount of 3.78 million kuna excluding VAT or 4.55 million kuna including VAT. Three offers were received for the tender.

Minister Lorencin, in response to a journalist’s question about the figures in continental tourism, stated that they are at the level of last year’s results, with the share of continental tourism in total tourism between 3 and 4 percent.

Although this figure is relatively small when looking at Croatian tourism as a whole, it is important that guests have a quality tourist offer throughout Croatia, not just by the sea, he said. He noted that continental tourism currently lacks the development of new tourist products and stronger promotion in foreign markets.

He highlighted the leading position of Krapina-Zagorje County, which excels not only in the numbers of arrivals and overnight stays but also in initiatives in the offer of new tourist products.
