If the same conditions applied for the import of Croatian cigarettes as before entering the EU, Serbia would have 2 million euros less in revenue each year, writes Serbian Novosti.
Novosti reports that this amount arises from a simple calculation, as last year 900 tons of Croatian cigarettes were imported into Serbia, from which they ‘earned’ 753 thousand euros.
According to data obtained from the Serbian customs during May and June, the Tobacco Factory Rovinj imported 596 tons of cigarettes, for which they paid customs duties amounting to nearly half a million euros, VAT amounting to 6 million euros, and excise duties amounting to 27 million euros.
