U.S. futures indices indicate a rise in stock prices on Wall Street for the second consecutive day, as investors optimistically await the announcement of Apple’s business results, as well as those of numerous other large American corporations.
The Dow Jones futures were up 22 points around 1:00 PM, the tech-heavy Nasdaq was up 7 points, and the S&P 500 was up 3 points.
On Wall Street, the S&P 500 index reached a new record level for the third consecutive day on Monday, thanks to solid quarterly business results from most companies and banks. The S&P 500 rose by 0.20 percent, to 1,695 points.
This marks the 23rd time this year that it has reached a new record level, primarily due to the rise in stock prices in the banking sector.
Today, the season for the announcement of U.S. companies’ second-quarter business results will be in full swing. The results of Apple are particularly anticipated, but also those of DuPont, United Technologies, and Lockheed Martin.
From macroeconomic indicators, only the U.S. house price index for May will be released today.
Positive sentiment prevails on European exchanges today, with the Frankfurt DAX, Paris CAC, and London FTSE currently up between 0.11 and 0.28 percent.
