Kujundžić founded a new party

A new political party – Croatian Dawn People’s Party (HZ), led by HDZ dissident Milan Kujundžić, was founded yesterday at the Westin Hotel.

At the founding assembly, 287 founders of the new party gathered, and Kujundžić stated that this is just the core of a political action. Milan Petrak was elected as Kujundžić’s deputy at the assembly, while Darko Chudy, Vinko Hrkać, and Tomislav Vujeva were elected as vice presidents of the party, and a ten-member Presidency and other party bodies were also elected. The Croatian Dawn People’s Party is the 141st political party in Croatia.

He mentioned that journalists have been asking him these days whether there will be any famous people among the founders of the new party. “I said – everyone is famous. They are the ones who work in the fields and at sea, in factories and hospitals, while those you call famous are bad students and dropouts, idlers who cunningly entered politics,” said Kujundžić, emphasizing that Croatian Dawn will make a political turnaround and tell such people – enough is enough, what you have taken, you have taken.

“This is just the core and precursor, and the best will follow us. We need everyone who is loyal to the Croatian flag, who have proven themselves through work and order, without prejudices about worldviews, left and right,” Kujundžić stated.

He accused the political elites that alternate in power of pushing Croatia into a multiple crisis of governance, industry, finance, and morality due to personal interests and lack of vision, causing a loss of trust in politics and leading the nation into despair.

“They have no vision or idea, they are returning to the past and reviving outdated myths and divisions, destroying the reconciliation that Franjo Tuđman conceived and implemented. By neglecting economic development and stratifying society, they are stifling the spirit and breath of the nation,” said Kujundžić.

He accused the two leading parties of artificially creating a bipolar political scene. “There are supposedly only two parties, which claim that no one but them has a chance, and we say – their time has passed,” he stated.

He emphasized that the Croatian Dawn People’s Party offers a new approach to politics.

“We are devoid of any personal interest and greed, and I believe that all those who know that there will be no future for our children if we do not build the foundations on which the state and homeland Croatia will rest today will join us. We must not squander our heritage and leave our children a devastated land and despair,” said Kujundžić.

He also stated that the establishment of the new party is inevitable. “We were forced into this by the political elites. The foundation of the Croatian Dawn People’s Party is not driven by desire and vanity. Those who entered politics out of vanity and desire for taking say that, while we are here to give,” Kujundžić stated, convinced that HZ will unleash the constrained energy and potential of the Croatian people, as demonstrated in the Homeland War.

He highlighted the fight against poverty and the emigration of young people and families as the most important task of the new party, and called for cooperation with all independent candidates from the recent European and local elections, associations, and unions.

He announced that his party will introduce a majority electoral system for parliamentary elections and strengthen the popular referendum, which, he says, must be binding for administrative bodies.

A document was distributed to those present at the founding assembly stating that the Croatian Dawn People’s Party will be committed to the principles of popular democracy and nurture the values of Christian heritage, that it will fight against political corruption, direct the financial sector to tie capital to work, promote birth rates, and protect families.

The party opposes the legal equalization of other life communities with the family, which, as emphasized in the text, is based on the gender community of a man and a woman.

They also promise radical changes to the education system, care for the elderly, relying on the creative power of youth, strengthening unity among all Croats, and special support for Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They announce a committed dialogue with other parties and civic associations, aiming to achieve national consensus on all important political and social issues.
