HT has sunk to the lowest price since its listing on the Stock Exchange

At the Zagreb Stock Exchange, the Crobex indices were slightly down at noon, with thin trading, as there are no significant domestic news, while the HT stock has slid to a new record low level.

The Crobex index was down 0.28 percent at around noon, at 1,822 points, while Crobex10 fell 0.36 percent to 1,019 points. Regular trading in shares amounted to 2.8 million kuna, about a million less than on Friday at this time.

– The Crobex indices are slightly down, while liquidity remains weak, which was expected, given that it is the holiday season and there are no significant news. Investors are monitoring developments in foreign markets, and new guidelines are expected next week when domestic companies begin to publish reports on their business in the second quarter and the first six months of this year, says Ana Matić, financial analyst at Zagrebačka banka.

The highest turnover, 1.5 million kuna, was achieved by HT shares by noon. Its price fell by 0.8 percent to 169.20 kuna, and at one point it dipped to 169 kuna, a new low since its listing on the Stock Exchange. Since mid-June, when this stock began trading without the right to a dividend, the price of HT has fallen by more than 17 percent. Following with a turnover of about 350 thousand kuna is the stock of Ericsson Nikola Tesla, whose price rose by 1.05 percent to 1,548 kuna. The price of Đuro Đaković Holding shares rose the most, by 5.6 percent, to 76.90 kuna, with a turnover of about 175 thousand kuna.

The rise in the price of Petrokemija shares has also continued. After jumping more than 9 percent last week, today this stock increased further by 1.5 percent to 218 kuna, thanks to speculation about the privatization of this Kutina company.

And on global markets, the rise in stock prices continues. After last week’s announcements from the European Central Bank and the U.S. Fed encouraged investors that they would continue to pursue loose monetary policy, this morning they were prompted by data on solid growth in the Chinese economy.

China’s gross domestic product grew by 7.5 percent year-on-year in the second quarter. This is, however, slower than the 7.7 percent growth in the previous quarter, but in line with expectations.

– There is still a good mood on global stock exchanges, and investors were most encouraged by the growth of China’s GDP. Although the growth is lower than in the first quarter, it is still in line with the expectations of analysts and the local government, which has set a target for economic growth this year of 7.5 percent, says Ana Matić. Thanks to this, around noon, the London FTSE, Frankfurt DAX, and Paris CAC indices were up between 0.2 and 0.5 percent.
