Slim invests 40 million dollars in music application

The British company Shazam, best known for its music recognition application, has secured 40 million dollars in new funding from America Movil, the telecommunications giant owned by one of the richest men in the world, Carlos Slim.

Shazam will use this opportunity to enter the Latin American market, and as reported, their user base currently counts 350 million users, with two million new users being recorded on a weekly basis.

The company intends to focus on new applications, expand TV partnerships, and explore potential new acquisitions.
