Today, the Committee for the Constitution, Rules of Procedure, and Political System will convene in the Parliament to consider the referendum initiative In the Name of the Family, reports HRT.
Let us recall that the initiators submitted nearly 750,000 signatures from citizens to the Parliament in June, requesting that marriage be defined in the Constitution exclusively as a life partnership between a man and a woman. It is expected that the Committee will forward the received signatures for verification to the ministries of administration and internal affairs, which is the usual procedure for civic initiatives for calling a referendum.
On the agenda is also a proposal for a vote of confidence in Ranko Ostojić, the Minister of Internal Affairs, and for the performance of duties as Deputy Prime Minister, as well as a proposal for a law on the management and disposal of property owned by the Republic of Croatia.
