After several days, the protests of traders at the markets in Zagreb and other cities in Croatia have ceased. But only for a short while. All Zagreb markets operated on Saturday and will operate today as well.
However, the markets will be closed again tomorrow when vendors from Dolac will go to the Government at Markov trg with their demands against fiscalization. They are asking to be taxed flat-rate instead of through fiscal cash registers and are proposing a three-month moratorium to negotiate the terms of taxation with the Government.
A representative of the vendors from the Rijeka markets, Zoran Plavčić, stated yesterday that around 70 vendors from Rijeka will organize to go to the protest against fiscalization, which will be held in Zagreb on Monday, and he called on citizens for understanding.
I want to apologize to the customers who are suffering because we are on the street, Plavčić told reporters at the main Rijeka market, adding that he will go to the protest, and if someone wants to work, they can work.
