DTR workers, who have been protesting in Zagreb for a longer period, announced on their Facebook page on Friday that the action (protest) has been suspended as they have received payments for two months.
– As of today, the employer has made payments for two salaries and two transportation allowances to DTR workers, thereby meeting the conditions for ending the strike – states the announcement regarding the end of the strike at the Domestic Laundry Factory (DTR).
The workers, who have been on strike since May 7, due to the employer’s failure to pay salaries for March and April, transportation allowances, and material rights – Christmas bonuses, vacation bonuses, Easter bonuses, and anniversary awards, called out the government at the beginning of June due to the difficult state of the Croatian textile industry and demanded that their claims be paid as they have no means to live.
A pre-bankruptcy settlement procedure was opened for DTR on March 22 due to insolvency, and at the first hearing held on May 8, it was determined that the total claims amount to 6.5 million kuna.
The majority owner of DTR was the company Ceufin Brokers d.o.o. in bankruptcy, which held 65.45 percent of the shares, but this share was purchased at a public auction in enforcement proceedings on May 20 by entrepreneur Milan Carić, who paid 890,000 kuna for it.
