Panasonic invests 10 million euros in Gorenje

Slovenian household appliance manufacturer Gorenje has concluded a strategic partnership agreement with Japanese Panasonic, the Slovenian corporation announced in a press release on Friday.

Under the strategic partnership agreement, Panasonic will invest 10 million euros in Gorenje, becoming its third-largest shareholder, said Gorenje’s CEO Franjo Bobinac.

The Slovenian corporation, which has been seeking a strategic partner in recent years, states in the press release that the partnership with Panasonic is a historic moment in its strategic development plans.

It is anticipated that at the beginning of the collaboration, Gorenje and Panasonic will jointly develop a new generation of washing machines for the EU market, as well as produce refrigerators under the Panasonic brand for distribution in Russia and other markets of the former USSR, with the possibility of joint distribution of kitchen appliances from both companies.
