Journalists Leave Radman’s Press Conference

Journalists following the work of Croatian Radio Television stood up in the middle of a press conference organized by the Director General Goran Radman after he called them the main culprits for the ‘evil that is spreading about this house’.

Radman called the press conference after recent reports in the media that he did not include the Vila Park hotel in Bohinj, Slovenia in his asset declaration, as well as that he attempted to interfere in the editorial policy of the house. Besides him, Marija Nemčić, Boris Sruk, and Duško Zimonja attended the conference, and according to tportal’s reporting, about 20 editors from HRT were also required to attend at his order.

– There are days when a person decides to go for a newspaper and never return. There are days when a person goes on vacation and never comes back, and there are days when it seems to a person that injustice is being done for everything they do, but today is not that day. Today is the day to say enough to you, journalists in the hall, politicians in the shadows, interested clans that undermine the house to the point that it has become unbearable and we will no longer tolerate it – said Radman.

In a five-minute monologue, Radman asserted that journalists continuously participate in devaluing HRT and that due to their writing, his life and the lives of employees are endangered.

– In the last seven months, I personally, as well as the institution, have been continuously exposed to persecution, devaluation, and public shaming. All those who read your writings will use their power using your arguments to break into our apartments, threaten the lives of our families and children, and rob our property – emphasized Radman. He then listed what has been done in the last seven months at Prisavlje, and afterwards again fiercely attacked the journalists.

– This last campaign directed at me personally aims to remove the fourth director in the last four years to prove that this house has no perspective or future. This is something we will not accept. I address you who convey evil to the public – Radman stated. After that, the gathered journalists decided to leave the press conference.
