The police in Bosnia and Herzegovina have begun collecting evidence in an investigation centered on the company ‘Lijanovići’ from Široki Brijeg, it was confirmed on Wednesday from the headquarters of the State Investigation and Protection Agency of BiH (SIPA).
The agency’s spokesperson Kristina Jozić told local media that evidence in the operation conducted under the code name ‘Meat’ is being collected at the request of the Court of BiH, or the state prosecutor’s office, and the Indirect Taxation Authority (UNO) is also participating in the documentation collection.
The investigation concerns several individuals connected to the Široki Brijeg company owned by the Ivanković Lijanović family. SIPA members, as confirmed by Jozić, have searched the office of Jerko Ivanković Lijanović, who currently serves as the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of the Federation of BiH. His brother Mladen is a representative in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament.
The police have already submitted a report to the state prosecutor’s office in this case regarding the commission of a criminal offense, which includes ‘money laundering’ in the amount of slightly more than five million euros. The BiH Prosecutor’s Office confirmed on Wednesday that an investigation is underway, but without any additional comments.
