After the successful Svarog Professional Networking Night held in October last year, Women in Adria, in collaboration with Badel 1862, continues to celebrate women and women’s achievements.
Women and alcoholic beverages Although the alcoholic beverage industry is traditionally male-dominated, the glass ceiling is being broken both globally and locally. Women dominate the production of wine and spirits at Badel 1862. The fact that only 10 percent of wine tasters are women while nearly 50 percent of spirit tasters are women debunks the myth that men tolerate alcohol better.
Women have long enjoyed a glass of good wine. Research by NPD, a market research company, has shown that women more frequently order alcoholic beverages in restaurants (9 percent more in 2009, 3 percent more in 2010). Alcohol consumption among men is decreasing (4 percent in 2009, 6 percent in 2010) although they still consume about 10 percent more than women in restaurants.
Since women are primarily responsible for household shopping, 65-70 percent of decisions regarding beverage purchases for the household are in women’s hands.
The summer Women in Adria Professional Networking Night will be held on July 3, 2013, at the Mansion club in Jarun, starting at 7 PM. More information about the event can be found HERE.
