In the first five months of 2013, Croatia topped the list of countries from which Bosnia and Herzegovina imported the most, but at the same time, a total decline of Croatian exports to that country of as much as 10.2 percent was recorded compared to the same period last year, the Agency for Statistics of BiH (BHAS) announced on Thursday.
According to data from this agency, the total value of Croatian exports to BiH reached 389.4 million euros, which is 12.7 percent of the total Bosnian-Herzegovinian imports during this period, valued at just over three billion euros.
This continues a trend that has been ongoing since 1996, but other European Union countries are gradually catching up to Croatia, and in May, Germany already took first place on the list of largest exporters to BiH, accounting for 11.2 percent of total monthly imports.
Statistics also recorded a certain decline in total exports from Germany to BiH, but unlike that from Croatia, it was significantly milder, amounting to only 1.8 percent.
Slovenian companies exported 3.7 percent less goods to BiH, while Serbian companies exported 3.2 percent less.
At the same time, from January to the end of May, Germany was also the country to which the most was exported from BiH, while Croatia was in second place.
Bosnian-Herzegovinian companies thus exported goods worth 276.7 million euros to Germany, which is 15.6 percent of their total exports.
In Croatia, goods worth 268.3 million euros were sold from BiH, which is 15.1 percent of the exports that were worth just over 1.7 billion euros in total.
Total exports from BiH to Croatia increased by a significant 13.6 percent compared to 2012.
