Minister of Economy Ivan Vrdoljak and the President and Chairman of the Management Board of the oil company Rosneft Igor Sechin signed, during the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, a joint statement of interest in investing in the energy sector of Croatia, with the aim of supporting Rosneft in exploring opportunities for implementing such various projects in Croatia, the Ministry of Economy reported today.
-In line with the idea of creating a regional energy center, the parties highlighted areas of possible mutual interest in the supply of oil and petroleum products, including the storage of such products in Croatian ports as well as investments in infrastructure for the storage and transport of oil and petroleum products, the statement said.
A working group has also been established to conduct a comprehensive analysis of trade cooperation opportunities, as well as to identify new areas of collaboration.
-During the signing, the Minister of Economy and the President of Rosneft expressed interest in establishing and developing cooperation that will facilitate greater investment in the energy sector of the Republic of Croatia as well as in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Ministry of Economy’s statement concludes.
The top officials of Rosneft visited Zagreb in early June, where they also met with Prime Minister Zoran Milanović to discuss cooperation opportunities in the fields of exploration, refining, storage, and transport of oil and gas, as well as opportunities for collaboration in the area of electricity generation.
