German ThyssenKrupp today opened a new plant in Gyor, in the northwest of Hungary, with a total value of 1.2 billion forints (four million euros).
The factory will produce axle systems for the nearby Audi car factory. As emphasized by Thomas Moeller, CEO of ThyssenKrupp Automotive Systems, during the opening ceremony, parts will arrive at Audi’s assembly line 176 minutes after ordering, according to a precisely defined supply sequence (just-in-sequence principle).
He also noted that they expect the Gyor plant to generate annual revenue of 120 million euros in the upcoming period.
