Today, concession agreements for 23 ferry lines, 13 fast boat lines, and six classic boat lines were signed at the Agency for Coastal Line Maritime Transport in Split, based on which they will be maintained until December 31, 2016, as stipulated in accordance with the amendments to EU Directive 3577/92.
– This marks the completion of the most significant task in the public coastal line transport system to date – on all year-round lines determined by the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia regarding the designation of state lines, transport will be maintained based on concession agreements from July 1, 2013 – the Agency reported.
According to the data provided, the national carrier Jadrolinija will maintain the most lines – 23 ferry lines, eight fast boat lines, and three classic boat lines. For ferry lines, the agreements cover four profitable lines, for which Jadrolinija will pay an annual fee of two percent of the total revenue generated, and 19 unprofitable lines that Jadrolinija will maintain with state support.
The four profitable lines are Valbiska-Merag, Brestova-Porozina, Prizna-Žigljen, and Split-Supetar. The unprofitable lines that will be maintained by the national carrier are Zadar-Ist-Olib-Silba-Premuda-Mali Lošinj; Zadar-Ošljak-Preko; Biograd-Tkon; Zadar-Sestrunj-Zverinac-Molat-Ist; Brbinj-Zadar; Zadar-Bršanj-Rava; Šibenik-Kaprije-Žirje; Vis-Split; Lastovo-Vela Luka-Split; Vela Luka-Lastovo; Drvenik Veli-Drvenik Mali-Trogir-Split; Drvenik-Sućuraj; Ploče-Trpanj; Orebić-Dominče; Split-Stari Grad; Split-Rogač; Makarska-Sumartin; Dubrovnik-Suđurađ; Prapratno-Sobra.
From the fast boat lines, Jadrolinija will maintain the lines Novalja-Rab-Rijeka, Ist-Molat-Zadar, Zverinac-Božava-Sestrunj-Rivanj-Zadar, and Zadar-Iž-Rava, Jelsa-Bol-Split, and Split-Milna-Hvar, Lastovo-Vela Luka-Hvar-Split, and Korčula-Prigradica-Hvar-Split.
