Vupik Stock Leads Winners

Despite the rise in stock prices of certain Agrokor issues, the Crobex indices on the Zagreb Stock Exchange were in the red around noon, while investors generally lack clear direction due to the absence of new encouraging business news.

The Crobex index was down 0.3 percent at noon, at 1,796 points, while Crobex10 was down 0.65 percent at 1,014 points.

Regular trading in stocks reached 6.2 million kuna, which is approximately the same as on Friday at this time.

-There is no clear direction in the domestic market, and we do not expect significant activity due to the lack of encouraging business news. Investors are focused, as they were on Friday, on the stocks of Agrokor companies, after a contract was signed for Agrokor to acquire 53 percent of Mercator shares- says Nikolina Medić, financial analyst at Zagrebačka banka.

The Vupik stock recorded the highest turnover so far, amounting to 1.5 million kuna, and its price jumped 3.24 percent to 129.2 kuna.

The Belje stock is also in focus, with turnover nearing a million. Its price rose 3.39 percent to 74.99 kuna.

Among the stocks of the Agrokor group, the Zvijezda stock also stands out, which increased by 2.94 percent.

On Friday evening, Agrokor signed a purchase agreement for 53.12 percent of Mercator shares with an ownership consortium of 12 sellers in Ljubljana. They will pay 120 euros per Mercator share, totaling 240 million euros for 53.12 percent of Mercator shares.

The Adriatic Riviera stock, whose management announced the withdrawal of shares from listing on the stock exchange, achieved a turnover of 1.07 million kuna by noon, while its price stagnates at 14.5 kuna.

The price of HT stock, on the other hand, is up 0.36 percent to 183 kuna, with a turnover of 658,000 kuna so far.

Among the biggest losers are Podravka stocks, which recorded a price drop of 3.4 percent. Among the more liquid issues, the preferred shares of Adrisa are down 0.77 percent, and those of Ina are down 0.93 percent.

On European exchanges, the main indices are recovering today, with the London Ftse, Frankfurt DAX, and Paris CAC being up between 0.87 and 1.84 percent around noon.

-On European and Asian exchanges, indices are in positive territory after last week’s decline, while investors await the results of the two-day Fed meeting starting on Wednesday. The Fed’s stance regarding potential monetary stimulus reductions is expected to be defined there- concludes Medić.
