Dinko Burić (HDSSB) is the mayor of Belišće. This was decided in the third voting in less than a month. With 40 votes more, he defeated HDZ’s Dinko Huis in the repeated local elections.
Burić did not wish to make statements, only conveying that he will be the mayor for all citizens of Belišće.
On June 2, he was defeated by Dinko Huis (HDZ) by just one vote in the second round of local elections. Burić’s party filed a complaint, leading the Constitutional Court to annul the result and repeat the elections, but only at two of the total 15 polling stations.
However, at those two polling stations, everything was monitored at the highest level. Possible shortcomings in the City Electoral Commission were not allowed to occur.
And the citizens, who have already fulfilled their civic duty for the third time, are tired of the electoral games.
The mayoral chair of the first man of Belišće awaits, along with it, he will inherit accumulated problems – unemployment and a city from which young families are leaving.
