At today’s press conference, the official start of construction for Amanresort Cavtat was announced – the most luxurious hotel brand in the world, founded 25 years ago by Adrian Zecha with the opening of the first Aman Resort Amanpuri in Phuket, Thailand.
Amanresort Cavtat is a significant investment in Croatian tourism worth 29.5 million euros, undertaken by Croatian investors, Bonvena Hoteli d.o.o., from Cavtat.
The company was established in January exclusively for this project, and the investors are Greek entrepreneur Petros Stathis, water polo player Maro Balić, and small hotelier Jakša Ivaniš.
They will invest 27.6 percent of the total funds, while the remainder will be realized through a domestic bank.
Amanresort Cavtat is being built on the site of the former Hotel Makedonija. The entire complex will be located just 25-30 meters from the coastline. The total area of the plot on which Amanresort Cavtat is being built is 7,063 square meters.
-We are extremely happy to announce the construction of Amanresort in Croatia, in beautiful Cavtat. This is an investment of 29.5 million euros, which will largely be realized through the personal funds of the investors, while the remaining funds will be arranged with a Croatian bank. Amanresort is one of the most original hotel brands, known to the public as the most luxurious resort brand in the world, combining the perfect blend of resort experience with local history, architecture, and heritage. In line with the brand’s philosophy, Amanresort Cavtat will have 40 very luxuriously decorated accommodation units. Guests will be able to stay in 30 rooms of 80 square meters and 10 two-bedroom apartments of 160 square meters, and they will also have access to the Blagavaonica lounge restaurant and library, bar, garden restaurant, and spa,” explained Bonvena Hotels spokesperson Manuela Šola, adding that all Amanresorts provide their guests with an extraordinary lifestyle experience: ‘In the development and construction of the resort, local traditional elements are used, creating an ambiance that reflects the place and culture in which the resort is located. Accordingly, the building of Amanresort Cavtat will be covered with local stone, and the windows will be closed with traditional ‘shutters’. Each room will have a view of the Cavtat Bay and the old town of Dubrovnik in the distance.’
