Agrokor at the Doorstep of Mercator – Pivovarna Laško Agreed to Sell

Pivovarna Laško has decided to sell its stake in Slovenia’s largest retail chain Mercator to Agrokor, reports Reuters.

The PL Group holds 23 percent of the chain, and this decision is part of the process of selling a 53 percent stake that is being decided today by 12 companies and banks. 

The decision made pertains to 8.43 percent of Mercator shares held by the parent company in Laško, and it is expected that Pivovarna Union and Radenska, which are part of the Pivovarna Laško group, will also agree to the terms. Their supervisory boards will decide on this. 

According to media reports, Agrokor has offered 120 euros per Mercator share, which is 10 euros higher than the initial offer.

From the Slovenian government, which does not directly control Mercator but has stakes in banks and companies that are part of the ownership structure, the sale of another 15 companies has been announced, including Telekom.
