The new personal identification card was officially presented yesterday on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.
In addition to being new, it seems that it is not without errors – on its background is a map of Croatia on which the entire Dubrovnik-Neretva County and islands are omitted. The Ministry of the Interior states that this is a ‘stylization’.
– The representation of the entire map, including the outlines of the map of the Republic of Croatia, is a graphic stylization typically used in protected printing. The primary purpose of the applied graphic elements of the map is stylized vector protection of the document and not precise cartographic data. The map is made in three colors – gray, red, and blue, and viewed through all three levels contains all the information that can be displayed in the given size. Considering that the entire map measures 0.28×0.28 cm, it is possible that some graphic elements are lost in reproduction – stated dubrovniknet.hr spokesperson Dušan Miljuš.
