The month of May at the Zagreb Stock Exchange was marked by a nearly 30 percent increase in regular trading of shares and a 19 percent higher overall turnover, yet all eight stock indices ended the month with a decline in value.
Regular trading of shares in May amounted to 263.6 million kuna, which is 29.5 percent, or more than 60 million kuna higher than the trading of shares in April of this year. The total turnover simultaneously increased by 19.4 percent, to 309.04 million kuna.
The Crobex index ended May with a decline of 4.8 percent, at 1,853.97 points, while the value of the Crobex 10 index decreased by 3.3 percent, to 1,056.52 points.
Among sector indices, the value of the CROBEXkonstrukt index decreased the most, by as much as 18.8 percent last month, while the value of the CROBEXnutris index also significantly fell by 9.2 percent.
The most traded share in May was that of Končar Elektroindustrija, with over 78.4 million kuna in turnover, accounting for almost 30 percent of the total regular trading of shares achieved last month at the Zagreb Stock Exchange. Meanwhile, the price of Končar’s share decreased by 0.4 percent, to 722 kuna.
Almost 17 percent of the total turnover, or 44.6 million kuna, was achieved by HT shares, whose price decreased by 1.2 percent, to 211.51 kuna, while in third place by monthly turnover was Ericsson Nikola Tesla, with 19 million kuna in turnover and a price drop of 11.8 percent, to 1,327.85 kuna.
