Čačić: The problem of this country is that it lacks the courage for significant changes

In the HTV show Tema dana, Radimir Čačić responded to the question of how he feels by saying he feels good, considering the current conditions.

He confirmed that he will go to Remetinec on June 17 and that he requested to have the date set as soon as possible. He stated – there is no point in delaying further. First, he will go to Remetinec to the Center for Psychosocial Diagnostics where, after observation, experts will determine where he will serve his sentence.

Speaking about the results of the local elections, he said that a very good job has been done. This is the best result for HNS ever. We have once again confirmed that we are the strongest party in northern Croatia. According to all parameters, we have made a significant step forward, Čačić emphasized. He added that he is not surprised by the result. He also pointed out that he has led the system that won for 23 years. He mentioned that he has not yet discussed this with the party president Vesna Pusić. He cited the split between IDS and SDP in Istria as a wrong move.

Čačić did not want to specifically answer the question of whether it is time for a government reconstruction. He said that for a significant shift, it is important to find quality people, which, in his opinion, is not simple. Significant changes require some time, and that time has already passed. Vrdoljak and Grčić have a heavy burden, but I hope they will carry it successfully, Čačić emphasized.

When asked about Ombla and Plomin, Čačić said that the problem of this country is that it lacks the courage for significant changes. He named the former Minister of Environmental Protection Mirela Holy as the main culprit for stopping the Ombla project. He stated that he is satisfied with the fact that a larger investment – Srđ – is finally starting.

And finally, he said that he will have more time for reading in prison, but also for improving his physical fitness. He says – he has not left politics nor will he – he has only frozen his activities.
