Today’s round of negotiations in an attempt to mediate between the Government and the unions of public and state services has failed.
After a four-hour meeting held behind closed doors, representatives of the Government and the unions addressed the media, announcing the continuation of negotiations on Monday.
The unions have threatened a strike on June 5 if their demand for the restoration of certain material rights is not accepted. This could block the operations of some institutions. It is still unknown who will participate in the strike if mediation fails.
Minister of Labor Mirando Mrsić stated that in that case, no work obligation will be introduced, but that an agreement will be reached on the tasks that must be performed.
