Independent Customs Union Against Salary Reduction

The Independent Customs Union of Croatia (NSCH) disagrees with the salary reduction that would follow the adoption of the Regulation on the Internal Organization of the Customs Administration, as well as the reduction of material and social rights for Customs Administration employees, reported the union president Željko Popović.

In a letter addressed to the director of the Customs Administration, Zlatko Grabar, Popović assesses that the officials of the future regional customs offices are being discriminated against, and the union will protest.

– Considering the relations between the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Administration towards Customs Administration employees, particularly the definition of material and social rights – practically discrimination against the officials of the future regional offices, as well as the favoritism of non-existent differences in the Central Office that are rewarded on unknown grounds – NSCH will address the President of the Republic, the Prime Minister, and the Minister of Finance with a letter and protest – says the president of the Independent Customs Union of Croatia.

He emphasizes that the union disagrees with any salary reduction that would follow the definitions of the Regulation, nor with the reduction of material and social rights for Customs Administration officials.

– We believe that we have been deceived multiple times, and that the employer’s representative wants to take advantage of the moment of entering the EU to harm its workers, namely here the Customs Administration officials – says Popović.
