Končar presents low-floor tram and train in Geneva

At the 60th Congress of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in Geneva, among more than 300 exhibitors is Končar Elektroindustrija, which is presenting a low-floor electric tram and a city-suburban low-floor train, the company reported today.

This largest event related to public transport, held this year under the motto “i-MOVE 2.0”, lasts from May 26 to 30 and gathers representatives from cities around the world, urban transport operators, investors, and technical and commercial experts. UITP has 3,400 members from 92 countries.

As part of the congress, which is held every two years, more than 300 exhibitors are showcasing their products on 30,000 square meters of exhibition space, including Končar.

In the professional segment of the congress, 15 forums discuss the importance of electric buses, increasing railway transport capacity, integrated fare collection and information systems in vehicles, and the challenges of new infrastructure solutions. One of the presented papers is ‘Experiences in the operation of the low-floor tram KONČAR TMK 2200’, which analyzed data on the operation of the low-floor tram in the city of Zagreb, Končar reports.

They add that on this occasion, they presented to the international expert audience the experiences of using the low-floor tram in Zagreb, with over 40 million kilometers traveled. From 2005 to 2010, Končar – Electric Vehicles delivered 140 five-section and two three-section trams to the city of Zagreb.
