Last year’s arrival of the British garage band Jim Jones Revue in Zagreb was remembered as an adrenaline explosion of rock and roll that was very pleasantly surprising.
The style owes much to early rock and roll artists such as Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard, as well as punk rock bands like The Stooges, MC5, and Motörhead. This year, they return to present their new studio album ‘The Savage Heart’, which, like its predecessor, bears the production mark of Jim Sclavunos. The drummer of Cave and Grinderman captured the rawness of Jones’s band and continued along the path set by their debut in 2008 with nine loud songs.
‘The Jim Jones Revue’ and the follow-up ‘Burning Your House Down’, albums that brought him fans like Liam Gallagher and The Bad Seeds, as well as an appearance on the Letterman show. ‘The Savage Heart’, the organizers stated, with its controlled-uncontrolled outbursts of rock and roll rage, has finally placed Jim Jones Revue where it belongs.
