Croatia was at the top of the list of countries from which the most was imported into Bosnia and Herzegovina in the first four months of this year, while at the same time it ranked second among the countries to which the most was exported from BiH, announced the Agency for Statistics of BiH (BHAS) on Friday.
According to collected indicators, from January to the end of April, goods worth approximately 296 million euros were imported from Croatia to BiH, which accounts for 12.3 percent of the total Bosnian-Herzegovinian imports during this period.
The total imports into BiH from January to the end of April reached a value of around 2.4 billion euros.
At the same time, goods worth approximately 1.4 billion euros were exported from BiH, of which exports to Croatia amounted to 205 million euros, which is 14.7 percent of the total Bosnian-Herzegovinian exports.
A comparison with the first four months of 2012 showed that exports to Croatia were higher by as much as 16.8 percent.
At the same time, a decline in imports from Croatia to BiH of 12.4 percent was recorded.
Although BiH continues to record a significant foreign trade deficit, which amounts to nearly one billion euros in the first four months, it was still 14 percent lower than in the same period in 2012.
Analyses show that this was primarily facilitated by activities such as electricity production, which BiH is now exporting in increased amounts.
