Josip Paladino, a renowned Croatian neurosurgeon, will be questioned at USKOK today as part of the Karlovačka banka affair after becoming a suspect from being a witness, reports Dnevnik.hr
USKOK suspects Josip Paladino of having defrauded Karlovačka banka of more than 25 million kuna in collaboration with members of the Šola family.
Josip Paladino is suspected due to the dealings his company Clarus Primus had with Karlovačka banka and Sandi Šola and his mother Marija. They suspect that this business cooperation aimed to secure funds for the Šola family’s business using resources from Karlovačka banka.
Josip Paladino has already testified as a witness in the Karlovačka banka affair, but in the meantime, he has become a suspect and will be questioned today in that capacity at the USKOK headquarters.
Josip Paladino is no longer the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Hajduk since last week, and in a statement from the deputy chair of the Supervisory Board of Hajduk, Branka Ramljak, it is noted that Paladino resigns ‘for personal reasons, wishing that the work of Hajduk is not burdened by anything.’
