Negotiations between the management of Croatia Airlines and the Cabin Crew Union, which has been on strike for the eighth day, have been ongoing since this morning.
Although the Air Traffic Pilots Union ended its strike yesterday after signing an agreement with management that set further negotiations for a new collective agreement, regular air transport has yet to be established.
The spokesperson for the Cabin Crew Union, Ivana Lojo, explained what savings they are willing to accept – the payment of the minimum wage for May in the amount of 2800 kuna and a 3% reduction in salaries for 2013. A member of the management of Croatia Airlines, Zlatko Širac, stated that the issue in negotiations is the salary for 2014. Management proposes a 9% reduction in net salaries.
Due to the flight attendants’ strike, CA is flying today according to a modified flight schedule, and the damage as of yesterday has reached 7.5 million kuna, while today it is estimated to be around 1 million kuna, according to management. For today’s flights, 5600 passengers are booked, of which 1200 will experience disruptions in their planned travels. About 30% of planned flights have been canceled, but all passengers will be transported to their destinations during the day – some on flights operated by CA, some on chartered aircraft, and some on flights of partner companies, said CA spokesperson Davor Janušić to Hina.
