Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin participated today, alongside Italian Minister of Economic Development Flavio Zanonato, in a conference titled ‘Veneto and Croatia’s Accession to the European Union’ in Venice. During this occasion, the ministers discussed the advantages and consequences of Croatia’s accession to the EU and its impact on the economic cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Lorencin emphasized that Croatia’s path to the European Union has been long and thanked Italy, especially the Veneto region, for its support in this process.
-This is a moment when the entire Croatian economy is facing changes. We have already made significant progress on this path and are in the process of programming for the period 2014-2020, said Minister Lorencin. Minister Zanonato highlighted the importance of Croatia’s accession to the European Union, among other things, for the continuation of economic cooperation between the two countries. He also emphasized that Croatia and Italy have excellent bilateral relations and expressed confidence that the countries will continue to cooperate effectively in the coming years.
In addition to the aforementioned, representatives of the Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK), Istrian Development Agency (IDA), Italian Ambassador to the Republic of Croatia Emanuele D’ Alessandro, and other individuals important for the development of economic cooperation between Croatia and Italy also participated in the conference.
