HDZ holds the positions of county prefects in eight counties, SDP in two

Unofficial results of the first round of local elections show that in eight counties, the prefects will be from HDZ and its coalition partner HSS, in two counties from SDP, while the leading figures in the remaining counties will be elected in the second round.

The prefect of Zagreb County is again Stjepan Kožić (HSS), in Virovitica-Podravina County, Tomislav Tolušić (HDZ) remains in that position, in Brod-Posavina County Danijel Marušić (HDZ), in Dubrovnik-Neretva County Nikola Dobroslavić (HDZ), in Vukovar-Srijem County Božo Galić (HDZ), and in Koprivnica-Križevci County Darko Koren (HSS), as well as in Lika-Senj County Milan Kolić (HDZ).

In Zadar County, HDZ candidate Stipe Zrilić, after processing 99.59% of polling stations, has 45.01% of the votes. In the second round, he will face SDP candidate Renata Sabljar Dračevac, who received 32.04% of the votes.

The prefect of Krapina-Zagorje County will be Željko Kolar (SDP), and in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County, Zlatko Komadina (SDP) remains in power.

In Zagreb, a city that also has the status of a county, the current mayor Milan Bandić, as a candidate of a group of voters, will face Rajko Ostojić (SDP) in the second round.

In Karlovac County, the current prefect Ivan Vučić, candidate of the HDZ coalition, and Boris Ožanić, candidate of the SDP coalition, are going to the second round.

In Požega-Slavonia County, the HDZ coalition candidate Alojz Tomašević and Vicko Njavro (SDP, HSU) are going to the second round.

In Varaždin County, the current prefect Predrag Štromar (HNS, SDP, HSU) is going to the second round with Anđelko Stričak (HDZ, BUZ).

In Istria County, Valter Flego (IDS, HNS, Green Alliance) will face former IDS member of parliament, now SDP coalition candidate Damir Kajin in the second round.

In Međimurje County, Matija Posavec (HNS, HSLS, HSS, MS, SHUS) and the current prefect, candidate of the SDP-HSU-MDS coalition, Ivan Perhoč, are going to the second round.

In Osijek-Baranja County, the current prefect Vladimir Šišljagić (HDSSB, Green HR) will face Goran Ivanović (HDZ, HSP AS) in the second round.

In Šibenik-Knin County, the current prefect, HDZ candidate Goran Pauk, and Anita Bara (SDP, HNS, HSLS, HSU) are going to the second round.

In Split-Dalmatia County, HDZ candidate Zlatko Ževrnja and group of voters candidate Ivan Grubišić are entering the second round.

In Sisak-Moslavina County, the current prefect Marina Lovrić Merzel, candidate of the SDP coalition, and Ivo Žinić, candidate of the HDZ coalition, are going to the second round.

In Bjelovar-Bilogora County, the candidates for the prefect position in the second round will be Damir Bajs, candidate of the HDSS-HNS-HSU coalition, a former HSS member, and Vedran Babić, candidate of the SDP coalition.
