After 16 Years, Jambo’s Position Seriously Undermined

The Independent List Most has gained a majority in the City Council of Metković, winning 46.25 percent of the voters’ votes and thus securing a majority of nine mandates, reports RTL.

Jambo’s HSS list received 27.20 percent of the votes, or five mandates, while HDZ and coalition partners received 19.24 percent of the votes or 3 councilors in the City Council of Metković. One of the biggest losers of these elections is certainly the current mayor of Metković, Stipe Gabrić Jambo, whose position is seriously threatened for the first time in 16 years.

Gabrić’s defeat in the City Council is quite certain, and it is increasingly likely that for the first time since 1997, he could also lose the mayoral position in the second round of these local elections. In the first round of voting, his opponent Božo Petrov received 45.78 percent of the votes, while Jambo received significantly less, at 30.37 percent.
