Organized by the Zagreb Energy Association, Energo Media Service, and the portal croenergo.eu, in co-organization with the European Enterprise Network in Croatia at the Croatian Chamber of Economy and under the general sponsorship of the City of Zagreb, the ‘Greenovation 2013’ awards were presented yesterday in a total of 10 categories, highlighting the leaders of the Croatian green economy.
The awards were presented in the presence of the Minister of Environmental Protection and Nature, Mihael Zmajlović, and the Head of the City Office for Energy, Environmental Protection, and Sustainable Development of the City of Zagreb, Marijan Maras.
– In situations where even the state administration fails, it is entrepreneurs and the economy that lead and must break down barriers and show us politicians the right direction and how to be better and more efficient. I believe this will not be the case in the future and that all the efforts we undertake and all the regulations from the Ministry of Economy, as well as my department, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, will break down barriers and enable normal and sustainable development of entrepreneurship focused on environmental protection and the benefit of all citizens – said Zmajlović.
– I am very pleased that an increasing number of Croatian companies recognize the value of the green economy and, as evidenced by the awarded projects, can realize truly exceptional projects across Croatia and through various economic sectors – said Maras.
The ‘Greenovation’ award, after a public competition, was awarded in a total of 10 categories, and one special award was given for this year’s competition theme – green construction.
