The Slovenian pharmaceutical group Krka from Novo Mesto achieved a total profit of 51.4 million euros in the first three months of this year, which is six percent higher than in the same period of 2012, according to the unaudited results published by the company on Thursday on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange website.
The total sales revenue of the entire group, which generates 97 percent of its revenue abroad, amounted to 294.4 million euros, which is 10 percent higher than in last year’s first quarter.
Sales of prescription drugs, which account for 82 percent of the revenue structure, increased by five percent compared to the same period last year. Operating profit increased by seven percent and amounted to 58.4 million euros.
The entire pharmaceutical group employs more than 9,600 people in Slovenia and abroad, and the number of employees increased by two percent in the first quarter of this year.
