The Supervisory Board of Badel 1862 today confirmed the government’s decision from April and dismissed the previous director Srđan Oreba.
Ivo Markotić has been appointed as the new general director, and the decision was made with a positive opinion from the Office for State Property Management.
As previously reported, Markotić comes to the head of the company, which is majority state-owned (77.88 percent), from Centar banka, where he served as CEO from May 2011 until March this year. After that, he became a consultant for the bank.
He began his career in 1992 as the CEO of Slavonska banka Osijek, where he successfully completed the first rehabilitation of a bank in Croatia.
From 1999 to 2003, he worked at Zagrebačka banka on bank acquisitions in the region and as the director of the Large Systems Sector, and from 2003 to 2008, he was the founder and member of the Management Board of Locat leasing (now Unicredit Leasing Croatia).
