The First Zagorje Solar Power Plant Opened

The company ‘Krklec metal’ from Hum na Sutli is the first investor and owner of a solar power plant in Krapina-Zagorje County, which officially started operating and producing electricity today.

This is an integrated photovoltaic power plant with a peak capacity of 30 kW, and the purchase of electricity has been fully agreed with HERA at a price of 2.23 kuna per kilowatt-hour for the next 14 years, confirmed the owner and director of the company, Ivan Krklec, for Hina.

The first solar power plant in Zagorje was built on the roof of the business facility of ‘Krklec metal’, which fully financed the project, with 25 percent from its own contribution and 75 percent from loans. The payback period for the investment is eight years. The construction of the power plant and the realization of the entire project took just over a year.

The owner of the company emphasizes that the relatively quick return on investment is one of the main reasons for the decision to embark on the solar power plant project.

Additionally, the company emphasizes that by producing its own energy, it will resolve irregularities such as voltage drops during machine operation.

The first solar power plant was opened by the acting county prefect of Krapina-Zagorje County, Sonja BorovĨak, who also announced the upcoming opening of a new solar power plant on the roof of a private house in the village of Miljana.
