Member of the Management Board of CA, Zlatko Širac, announced that the Management might abandon the layoffs of flight attendants who massively opened sick leave on May 1 and 2, which raised suspicions with the employer that it was an illegal protest against the new collective agreement.
For now, it is about initiating the procedure for issuing the intention to terminate the employment contract, said Širac, hinting that the layoffs will not happen, as both HZZO and the Workers’ Council assessed that the sick leaves were justified and in accordance with the law.
In light of the announced strike by three CA unions, the company announced that part of its international and domestic regular flights on Tuesday, May 14, will operate according to a modified (special) flight schedule.
The company emphasizes that the announced strike means only a partial disruption of traffic, as most passengers will be transported by Croatia Airlines aircraft according to the flight schedule, while the remaining part will be transported by partner companies’ aircraft or chartered aircraft, as stated in the Croatia Airlines press release.
