The Agency for Payments in Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development has begun disbursing the second part of the support to farmers based on approved applications for the year 2012, it was announced by the Agency.
Today, 147.6 million kuna has been paid for the four remaining installments of regional payments for cow, sheep, and goat milk, premiums for suckler cows, sheep, and goats, as well as state aid for dairy cows, tobacco, sugar beet, and olive oil.
Next week, income support for the first and second groups, other direct support, rural development measures (ecological, integrated, preservation of indigenous and protected breeds of domestic animals, more challenging management conditions), fourth quarter support in fisheries, and market intervention measures for mandarins will be disbursed.
The Agency reminds agricultural producers that the deadline for submitting applications for support for the year 2013 expires on Wednesday, May 15, with applications also being accepted 25 calendar days after that deadline. In that case, the payment amount is reduced by one percent for each working day of delay.
So far, 93,000 users have filled out the application, the announcement states.
It is added that from this year, direct payments are being implemented in accordance with the rules of the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy, which replaces the previous national system of agricultural subsidies.
