Today, a production-tourism complex was opened in Tar, into which Agrolaguna invested 35 million kuna and employed 40 people.
This investment is a continuation of Agrokor’s investment in Agrolaguna and an incentive for further development of that segment of the company’s business.
The project included the reconstruction of the cheese factory ‘Sir Laguna’ and the renovation of the Špin estate building, a new tasting room was arranged, and a cheese road was built. The opening of the complex was attended by Minister of Agriculture Tihomir Jakovina, Minister of Tourism Darko Lorencin, Istrian County Prefect Ivan Jakovčić, and Ivan Todorić, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Agrokor.
The project implementation began in July 2012 and lasted six months. The cheese factory ‘Sir Laguna’ is one of three cheese factories in Croatia that have contracted support from the IPARD program for reconstruction and equipment.
In the first phase, the cheese factory will produce 300 tons of cheese and 100 tons of cottage cheese per year, thus continuing traditional production.
