The euphoria that some retail chains in Croatia are promoting regarding EU accession has not escaped the attention of Slovenians, whose producers, as reported by Finance, do not expect a significant drop in prices. In the best case, it will amount to five to 10 percent of the final price.
– Croatian producers have been quite protected until now – said the head of Celjske mesnine, Izidor Krivec, who expects sales growth in this market due to increased competitiveness.
– This year we expect a 50 percent increase in sales – he said.
Despite somewhat awkward political relations between the two countries, Slovenian producers have a good reputation in Croatia, and their products are in second place, Krivec states.
– Since there will no longer be customs duties, our product will be more competitive – says the CEO of Panvita, Petar Polanič. He expects 2.5 million euros in revenue in Croatia, which is 1.5 million euros more than last year.
Perutnina Ptuj holds a 20 percent share in Croatia and is the second largest meat producer.
– This year we expect a 12 percent increase in group revenues, so our expectations for the Croatian market have not changed – said the CEO of Perutnina Ptuj, Roman Glaser.
