Total stocks of finished industrial products in Croatia at the end of March increased by 1.6 percent compared to the end of February, while on an annual basis, compared to the end of March 2012, they increased by 1.4 percent, reported the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS).
When viewed by areas of the national classification of activities, stocks of finished industrial products at the end of March compared to the previous month increased by 1.5 percent in the manufacturing industry, while in mining and quarrying they were higher by 4.9 percent. On an annual basis, compared to March 2012, stocks in mining and quarrying were lower by 17.7 percent, while in the manufacturing industry they increased by 2.6 percent.
Among the 23 activities within the manufacturing industry, 14 recorded a decrease in March on an annual basis, while nine recorded an increase in stocks. Almost all activities with a significant share in the manufacturing industry, compared to March 2012, report a decrease in stocks of finished industrial products.
Thus, in the production of food products, which has the largest share at 18.71 percent, stocks decreased by 2.5 percent, while in the production of other non-metallic mineral products (share of 12.22 percent), stocks fell by 11.1 percent, and in the production of beverages (share of 9.71 percent) by 9.4 percent. At the same time, the largest increase in stocks among activities with a significant share, by as much as 112.6 percent, was recorded in the production of basic pharmaceutical products and preparations, which has a share of 10.77 percent in total industry.
