GfK has published the consumer confidence index which shows an increase in consumer optimism.
Although under pressure from unfavorable macroeconomic trends and poor forecasts for 2013, consumers expressed a certain degree of optimism in March 2013, and the GfK consumer confidence index recorded a slight increase from 31.47 to 33.39 points. A positive shift occurred in the assessment of the current financial situation and expectations for future income, while the propensity to consume remained unchanged, GfK reported.
